Symptoms of Graves' disease
Some of the symptoms of this disease include weight loss due to increased energy expenditure, increased appetite, heart rate and blood pressure, tremors, nervousness and sweating, frequent bowel movements.The most common symptoms of Graves' disease, including hyperthyroidism, insomnia , irritability, weight loss without dieting, heat sensitivity, increased perspiration, fine or brittle hair, muscle weakness, eye disorders, menstrual flow more smoothly, accelerated heartbeat and hand tremors. Graves' disease is the only kind of hyperthyroidism that is associated with inflammation of the eyes, swelling of the tissues around the eyes and bulging of the eyes. Some patients develop red bumps, thickening of the skin on the forehead or pretibial myxedema.
This skin condition is usually painless. The symptoms of this disease can appear gradually or suddenly and are often confused with other medical problems. Women can have Grave's disease without showing visible symptoms.
